Industry: Manufacturing

Crossmuller recently completed commissioning on two turnkey Wemhoner Short Cycle Press lines for Australian Panels at their plant in Somersby, NSW.

These press lines are designed to handle quicker machine configuration changes compared to existing press lines. This allows for more efficient operation on smaller size production runs.

The Challenge

Crossmuller's project scope included the mechanical and electrical design, installation and commissioning.

This also included the design and configuration of Wonderware MES system with integration to the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning system) for download of production work orders, reporting of raw material consumption, and management of the finished goods inventory.

The Solution

One of the key features of this project was the seamless integration between the press line infeed and outfeed and the Pack Store Warehouse System.

Driven by orders from the Dynamics AX ERP system, raw board is automatically delivered from the warehouse to the infeed of the presses, and finished boards are returned to the warehouse to be available for customer order picking.

The benefits of working with Crossmuller's multi-disciplinary team meant this customer was able to have their new equipment commissioned in Australia by a trusted organisation who are able to work directly with suppliers based overseas.
